We continue to make progress towards formal final city approvals. Our application for a zoning text amendment was approved by the Plan Commission and the Common Council. This allows the multiple building concept that we have presented on that site. It also allows us to have half bathrooms in the garage units. Additionally the city has said it would allow minor hobby related businesses, for example the collector that holds his or her cars in a business entity, or the Road America racer who’s hobby is setup as a business. However, it does not allow consumer facing business operations or any business with onsite employees. Here’s a link to the zoning text amendment.
Additionally, our Civil Engineering Plans have been completed and submitted to the city. These will have a preliminary review in early April and they will be formally reviewed by the City at the May 6. We’ve done our best in conjunction with the civil engineer and contractors to optimize the site as much as possible in regards to building location on the site, slope, storm water run off, and functionality.
